Arpana

 

Arpana, based in India, has been carrying out programs since 1980, to improve health, provide education and enhance livelihood for over 500,000 marginalized and vulnerable people in rural Haryana and Himachal Pradesh and for underprivileged children in Delhi. These programs have received National and International Recognitions over the years.

Param Pujya Ma, whose words and example continue to be our inspiration and guide, founded Arpana in 1962, inculcating and disseminating humane values which have sown the seeds of selfless service.

The rewards of self help, solidarity and pooled resources, facilitated by Arpana’s team, has brought well being, built savings, created opportunities for self employment to thousands of disempowered women and opened the doors of education for hundreds of first generation learners, most of whom now go to University or have obtained jobs and become the bread winners for their families.

ARPANA’S  EMPOWERING PROGRAMS:

  • ARPANA HOSPITAL - A multi speciality hospital in rural Haryana, was set up to provide affordable health care to the rural population. No patient is turned away for not being able to pay.
  • EMPOWERING RURAL WOMEN in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh through formation of Self Help Groups (SHGs) with knowledge on health, local governance and savings and loans for economic security.
  • DIFFERENTLY ABLED programs to generate hope and create opportunities for livelihood and inclusion in rural Haryana.
  • FARMERS SELF HELP GROUPS IN HIMACHAL - Rising from subsistence level to increasing their incomes tenfold.
  • EDUCATION AT MOLARBUND, NEW DELHI – To realize the potential of underprivileged children in slum resettlement colonies in Molarbund through tuition support, cultural activities and vocational skill training.
  • EDUCATION AT VASANT VIHAR, NEW DELHI – To provide tuition support, cultural exposure, spoken English and computer classes to unleash the potential of underprivileged children.
  • ARPANA MEDICAL AND DIAGNOSTIC CENTER, Bakrota, Himachal Pradesh, provides daily clinics and regular Speciality Camps for rural folk.
